静岡県のご出身で、埼玉県でメーカー勤務を経験されたのち、九谷焼技術研修所に入所され石川県に移住。独立後、能美市にて作陶されている川合さん。奥様が挽いた滑らかな生地に、動植物や文字をモチーフにした、物語を感じさせる細やかな絵付けを施した、温かみ溢れる九谷焼の器。手に取った人を笑顔にしてくれる、絵本のような優しい世界が広がる作品です。
Takatomo was born in Shizuoka Prefecture and worked for a manufacturer in Saitama Prefecture, and then he moved to Ishikawa Prefecture to join the Kutani-yaki (one of the ceramics making styles) Technical Institute. After becoming independent, he started making his own works in Nomi City. He meticulously paints the smooth surfaces, which his wife grinds, with motifs of animals, plants, and letters. His works are filled with warmth and like a picture book that
will bring a smile to anyone who holds it in their hands.

お正月の華やかな雰囲気にぴったりな、金彩と銀彩を施した作品。「発展」や「繁栄」などの縁起の良い意味をもつ”市松紋様”に、「松竹梅」や「一富士二鷹三茄子」、「鶴と亀」などの、かわいらしい絵柄が並びます。

2024年の干支である、「辰」も。可愛らしい表情に川合さんの遊び心を感じます。
