Atsushi draw pictures in a kiln by using indigo blue glaze.
The main component of the glaze is cobalt and it gives “yuragi (wavering)” to the contour of the pictures, given high-temperature firing, which is rather higher than for regular porcelain.
“Yuragi” does not happen to any other colors than indigo blue. Atsushi is always considerate of the feelings of his predecessors who created standard patterns succeeded to today. He has obtained contemporary sensibilities in his works by adding unique wavering patterns to pictures of traditional indigo blue porcelain.
