After graduating from Musashino Art University, studied lacquer-ware production at The Institute of Wajima Lacquer Arts. Following these studies he became a pupil of wooden bowl making, studied for 4 years and then set out on his own.
In 2001, he received the Encouragement Prize at the Takaoka Craft Competition.
He devotes himself to the pursuit of shapes that exhibit both easy-use and beauty. Natural textures and simple form are in harmony with modern lifestyles.
